The only thing Raspberries wants is to go as fast as lightning. But when the teacher says, “Nothing can go as fast as lighting — it’s a Scientific Rule,” Raspberries must either give up the dream or keep trying to break the Rule, even though no one knows what will happen if the Rule breaks.

My beta readers (ages 5-9) — and their adults — have given me such excellent feedback on my most recent edits, that I believe Space, Time, and Raspberries is finally ready to meet the right publisher.

Having survived valve repair surgery and an experimental cardiac bypass at age 5, three years before it was an accepted medical procedure, Susan grew into the size of her overworked and enlarged heart. Maybe she thought she had enough to give it away -- twice. Both times, she had to retrieve the shattered pieces and puzzle them back together. She thanks her Dad for the only advice of his she ever followed to the letter: "Never get married. Learn to take care of yourself." So of course she is a writer. Susan has co-written a YA SciFi novel, and has three more novels in various stages of evolution.     1. Hi, Shirley! It IS exciting. The first submission is now awaiting a response — or a non-response — by mid-December. Preparation for that (and my livelihood), have kept me more fully occupied than I’d planned. Now I’m almost caught up enough to get back to visiting my WordPress friends again. ❤

    1. Thank you, Tre! I’m going to send it first to Chronicle Books as an exclusive submission. They look like an excellent match if my work is good enough. The downside is that I might have to wait as long as six months before I know one way or the other. In the meantime, I’ll just keep writing!
